Ai-Powered Note-Taking and Study Support

Welcome to the Disability & Access Center’s guide to Jamworks. Jamworks is an AI-powered note-taking and study platform designed to help students capture, organize, and review lecture content more effectively. By combining lecture recordings, automatic transcription, AI-generated notes, and interactive study tools, Jamworks helps students spend less time trying to keep up with note-taking and more time focusing on learning and understanding course material.

Jamworks is available by license only and is granted through the DAC. If you have an accommodation for lecture recording, Genio may be offered to support your learning experience. This page will walk you through what Genio is, how it works, and how you can get set up at MTSU.

What is Jamworks?

Jamworks helps students stay engaged during class by recording lectures and automatically generating study materials from the lecture content. Students can add their own notes during class, and Jamworks combines those notes with the lecture recording to generate enhanced study resources. Students can focus on listening and learning during class, while Jamworks assists with note organization and review afterward.

Jamworks is designed to support a variety of learning styles by helping students:

Jamworks is available on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iOS, and Android devices.

Getting Started with Jamworks at MTSU

Access to Jamworks is not automatic. Students must be approved by the Disability & Access Center (DAC) to audio-record lectures. Once approved, depending on availability, you’ll be assigned a Jamworks license and receive a invitation email from Jamworks.

Steps to Get Started:

1. Register with the DAC if you haven’t already
2. If approved for audio recording notetaking, DAC staff will assign you a Genio license
3. Look for your invitation email from Genio and click “Accept Invite”
4. Log in, record, and organize your notes!
