The Testing Process – Default Instructions

If an instructor provides our office with an exam/quiz but does not provide instructions or provides incomplete instructions, our office will handle the exam/quiz in the following way:

The instructor has not specified whether he/she will pick up the exam/quiz or if he/she would like the exam/quiz delivered to the department.The DAC will send the exam/quiz to the department associated with the course.
The instructor has not specified the amount of time the class receives for the exam/quiz.The DAC will assume the class has the entire class time.
The instructor has not included a phone number.The DAC will call the instructor’s office phone number.
Scantron, Exam Book, Notes, Open Book, Scrap Paper, and Calculator are marked as “See Special Instructions” but nothing is mentioned in the Special Instructions box.

OR

The instructor has not mentioned whether any of the items mentioned above are permitted or prohibited.
 The DAC will e-mail and call the instructor prior to the exam date, starting 3 days before the exam is scheduled, to remind the instructor of the student’s name and the date and time the student is scheduled to take the exam or quiz.

 
Default Instructions (No Exam/Quiz)

If the exam/quiz is not in our office the day before the exam/quiz is scheduled to start, the DAC will do the following:

  • The DAC will call the instructor. The DAC will remind the instructor of the student’s name and the date and time the student has scheduled the exam/quiz.
     

If the exam/quiz does not arrive by the scheduled start time, the student will be advised to make arrangements with the instructor:

  1. The student contacts the instructor, and the instructor administers the exam/quiz with accommodations.
  2. The student contacts the instructor, and the student is allowed to reschedule with the DAC.
    1. The student and instructor, together, must contact (call or in person) the DAC to reschedule the exam/quiz.
